What Is OnStream?
OnStream is a free Android streaming app. No subscription. No account. Just install and watch.
The OnStream app gives you access to thousands of movies, TV shows, live TV channels, sports events, and anime without paying anything. It works differently from Netflix or Amazon Prime. There are no plans to choose, no credit card to add, and no registration screen to fill out. You download the OnStream APK, install it, and start watching.
The app connects to multiple streaming servers and lets you switch between them if one is slow. Content covers Hollywood, Bollywood, Korean, Spanish, Arabic, and more. Subtitles are available in dozens of languages and audio tracks can be switched on the fly.
OnStream App Features
All of this is free. No paid plan unlocks anything extra.
Stream up to 4K
OnStream supports video quality from 360p all the way up to 4K Ultra HD. The app automatically selects the best quality based on your internet speed, so you get a smooth picture without having to manually adjust anything. If you want to fix it at a specific quality to save data, you can do that from the player settings too.
Multiple Servers per Title
Each movie or show has more than one server link attached to it. If the one currently playing slows down or stops loading, you just tap the server icon and pick another one from the list. The video usually resumes within a few seconds, often from exactly where it left off.
Download and Watch Offline
You can save any movie or episode directly to your phone before going somewhere without internet. When downloading, you choose the quality you want, 360p, 720p, or 1080p, and select which subtitle language to save with it. After that the file plays from local storage, no connection needed at all.
Subtitles in Many Languages
Subtitles are available in Arabic, English, Spanish, French, Hindi, Portuguese, and several other languages. They load automatically when you start a video, and if the default language is not what you want, you can switch to a different one from inside the player without having to stop and restart the video.
Change the Audio Language
Many titles on OnStream include two or three audio tracks, typically the original language, an English dub, and sometimes an Arabic dub as well. You can switch between them inside the player at any point during playback, which saves you from having to search for a separate version of the same film.
Live TV and Sports Channels
OnStream includes over 500 live TV channels covering news, entertainment, and sports. Cricket, football, and basketball matches stream in real time just like they would on cable. There is no separate sports tier to pay for and no activation needed, it is all in the same app you already installed.
Open in External Player
While a video is playing, you can tap the PiP button to shrink it into a small floating window that sits on top of your other apps. This lets you reply to messages, check something in your browser, or use another app without the video stopping. When you are done, just tap the floating window to bring it back to full screen.
Advanced Search and Filters
If you already know the title, the basic search bar finds it quickly. But when you are not sure what to watch, you can narrow things down using filters like genre, release year, IMDb rating, original language, or cast member name. It is especially useful when you are in the mood for something specific but cannot think of an actual title.
Request a Missing Title
If you search for something and it is not in the library, there is a content request feature inside the app where you can submit the title directly. The OnStream team goes through these requests and adds the most popular ones on a regular basis. It is not instant, but titles do get added this way and it is something very few free streaming apps bother offering.
Dark Mode
You can switch the entire app interface to dark mode from the settings menu. The background turns dark grey and black, which makes it much more comfortable to browse or watch at night when a bright white screen would otherwise be distracting. It has no effect on streaming performance or video quality.
Play in an External Player
Before a video starts, OnStream gives you the option to open it in an external player like MX Player or VLC instead of the built-in one. MX Player is worth choosing if you want more control over subtitle position and timing, while VLC is better if you need audio boost or want to use its built-in equalizer for better sound quality.
Watchlist
Tapping the bookmark icon on any title adds it to your personal watchlist, which you can access from the main menu anytime. It is useful for keeping track of series you are partway through or movies you have been meaning to watch but kept putting off. The list stays saved between sessions even if you close the app completely.

No emulator option: If you do not want to install any software, open onstream.so in your PC browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge). The onstream pc online version streams from any browser with no install needed. Downloads are not supported in the browser version, but streaming works fine.
What’s New in OnStream v1.2.0
Released in 2026. Here is what changed from the previous version.
Faster Server Loading
v1.2.0 loads server links noticeably faster than v1.1.6. The time between tapping play and the video actually starting dropped by several seconds on most connections. Buffering mid-video is also less common now.
Improved Search
Search results are more accurate. Partial matches and alternate title spellings now show up correctly. Previously, some foreign-language titles would not appear unless you typed the exact name.
Download Manager Rewrite
The download section got a full rebuild. Downloads no longer pause randomly in the background. You can also delete individual files from inside the app without going into your phone’s file manager.
Smart TV and Android TV Fixes
Remote navigation on Firestick and Android TV was buggy in v1.1.6. Several focus and scroll issues are fixed in this version. The player controls now respond correctly when using a remote instead of a touchscreen.
More Subtitle Languages Added
Additional subtitle tracks are now available for content in the Arabic, Turkish, and Indonesian categories. More titles that previously had no subtitle option now show at least one language.
Bug Fixes and Stability
- Fixed app crash on launch for certain Android 14 devices
- Fixed PiP mode breaking after switching apps on some phones
- Fixed live TV channels failing to load on slow connections
- Fixed watchlist not saving after the app was force-closed
- General memory usage reduced, especially on 2GB RAM devices

How to Update OnStream to the Latest Version
OnStream is not on the Play Store, so updates don’t happen automatically. You do it manually. Takes about two minutes.
Update on Android
- Once the file downloads, open it from your notifications or Downloads folder.
- Tap Install. Android will install the new version over the old one automatically.
- You do not need to uninstall the old version first. Your watchlist and settings carry over.
- Open OnStreamsapp.pro If it shows the v1.2.0 change log on launch, the update worked.
Update on Firestick
- Open the Downloader app on your Firestick.
- Enter the OnStream APK URL from this page (or the current downloader code from the Firestick guide).
- Download the new APK file.
- When it asks if you want to install, tap Install. It replaces the existing version.
- Delete the APK file after install to save Firestick storage.
Update on PC (BlueStacks)
- Open the browser inside BlueStacks and go to this page.
- Download the new OnStream APK.
- Open the APK file from inside BlueStacks. It will prompt you to update the existing install.
- Tap Install and wait. The old version is replaced, settings stay intact.
No auto-update reminder inside the app? OnStream does not push notifications for updates. Bookmark this page and check back when the app starts behaving oddly or you hear a new version is out. Most major updates drop every few months.
What Makes OnStream Different
The onstream apk does not store video files on its own servers. It connects to multiple third-party streaming sources, indexes the available links, and serves them through a single clean interface. When you tap play, it fetches the stream from the best available server at that moment.
This is why multi-server support matters. If one source goes down, the app switches to the next one. Buffering is handled by pre-caching ahead of your playback position, so interruptions are rare even on slower mobile connections.
Streaming
Downloads
The APK is 17.6 MB because the app does not bundle video content. All content is fetched live. This keeps the install small and works well on older or low-storage Android devices running Android 5.0 and above.
How to Install OnStream APK on Android
Two phases. About two minutes total.
Phase 1: Allow Unknown Sources
Phase 2: Install the APk
Firestick install: Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options and enable Apps from Unknown Sources. Then use the Downloader app, enter the OnStream APK link from this page, and install. The onstream firestick setup takes about five minutes total.
